Eco-Parasol Planters

If there are trends and innovations that I really like and admire, then it would be functional, stylish and most of all eco-friendly inventions. Whether they are gadgetry, clothing and fashion accessories, architecture and art, simple home products like green cleaning products and more.

Why? Because I really appreciate the efforts of these designers / innovators / creators to create something functional while still looking out for the impact their products make on Earth. Sure, something little is not bound to change the world but if majority of designers and product manufacturers think that way, then we are on our way to saving the planet.

Anyway, what got me waxing lyrical about eco-friendly products is this: The Cavity Flowerpot. Designed with four receptacles to hold wet umbrellas. Excess water drains off and collects into a dish whereby plants absorb into their root system.

A really very simple idea, but provides a solution (don’t you just hate dripping umbrellas all over your porch? Well, I do), gets us to recycle and conserve water, and for sure the plants you’ll be planting there would be lovely, so it includes aesthetics as well.

So a big kudos goes to designer Merve Sarışın. I wonder if this being produced commercially already?
