One of the things I enjoy during the Oscar night is to watch out for the best and worst dressed celebrities. I usually end up having my personal favorites for the best fashion statements..
Hmm, 2010 Oscar night showcased a lot of exquisite gowns and as usual there were one’s best not mentioned or seen.. But among the lovely ones, here are my picks..
Penelope Cruz – If I had to pick one for the best dress this would be IT! (Maybe tied with Cameron Diaz..) The sultry Spanish beauty in red Donna Karan and Chopard jewelry. Not really surprising since she usually nails it on the red carpet but I still can’t help but be mesmerized.
Cameron Diaz – glamorous in heavily embellished strapless Oscar de la Renta gown. And paired with a side swept ‘do, well, just beautifully elegant.
Sandra Bullock – in glittering Marchesa metallic gown.. Gorgeous and goes perfectly with her well-deserved Oscar statue. I love the gowns intricate details as well as her simple hairstyle.
Queen Latifah – definitely one of my favorites. This lilac figure hugging gown is just perfect. Just proves you don’t have to be stick thin to be all regal and all glamorous. The Queen also nailed it with her pink sapphires and diamonds from Chopard which complemented her already stunning gown.
Miley Cyrus – in a champagne colored Jenny Packham gown. Lovely, lovely gown and I also like her accessories, but what’s with her posture? She looked tad uncomfortable which was a pity. She would have been stunning if she didn’t slouch..
Jennifer Lopez – in a show stopping Armani Prive gown..This dress definitely has that ‘wow factor’ J.Lo is known for.
Kristen Stewart – the Twilight star in a elegant midnight blue Monique Lhuillier creation. I love her dress and updo but I wish she accessorized a bit more.
Meryl Streep – I love her plunging white gown by Chris March, very age appropriate but still with that hint of sexiness. I just wished she ditched her shoes for another one better matching her dress..
Anna Kendrick – another one of my favorite gowns. Blush colored Elie Saab Couture, with lovely lovely details. The platform shoes are just so tacky though..
Helen Mirren – This is how I wished I would look like when I’m in my 60′s (haha! fat chance..). But then again Helen Mirren still manages to upstage even younger actresses. Here she is in a sparkling silver Badgley Mischka gown..
