Kim Yu-Na Wins the Ladies Figure Skating Gold

I haven’t been following the 2010 Winter  Olympics but I really had to wait for the ladies figure skating event. I’ve been following South Korea’s Kim Yu-na and whew! she really didn’t disappoint! While I was watching her free skate program, I was simply left speechless for a few minutes then I could just mutter, WOW!

Kim Yuna 2010 Olympic Gold

Flawless..And even the judges were just as dazzled. They gave her a score enough to set a world record! A sky-high 228.56 points and 18 points above the previous record she set. Kim Yu-na is one very accomplished 19 year old. No wonder people are calling her Queen Yu-na and I agree with that. Mostly because of the way she skates – elegantly, regally and with an unmatched technicality and artistry.

I’m sure South Koreans out there are mighty proud of her and this is sure to set of celebrations all over Korea.

Another personal favorite Japan’s Mao Asada came in to win the silver medal while Canada’s Joannie Rochette got the bronze.
