And it doesn’t even get you anywhere! That’s my first thought when I came across this piece of news. But then again this scale model car was developed by Robert Guelpen, an engineer who has been spending the past eight years developing cars for Mercedez. Guelpen has also been making ultra luxurious model cars and now he has a project on the works that is up for bidding at an auction in either New York or Dubai, and the minimum bidding price is a whopping $4.8 million.

Guelpen says the material alone for the scale model costs a whooping $2.7 Million and includes platinum, gold, sterling silver and precious stones. Whoa! If that is a real car, that would probably require a massive estatecarinsure.com car insurance coverage! Guelpen also says if he manages to find a buyer for this scale model car, he will donate $700,000 of the proceeds to charity. I’m pretty sure he could get a buyer for this. He is after all well known for making silver, gold and platinum models of luxury cars like Mercedes, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Jaguar and Bentley.
